About BDoY (Bus Driver of the Year) History | The BDoY Council | Middle Walk Bus Services Vice-Presidents Message | Low Cost Bus Shop Window Vehicle Donor's Roll of Honour   History   The BDoY event has its origins in a Coventry Corporation road safety competition first held in 1967 and organised by Mr. John Boxall MBE, who is now the Honorary President of BDoY. In the following few years, more bus operators joined the event, and by the mid-1970s, it had become a truly national competition. Blackpool has been the venue for the National Final since 1982. The detailed planning and administration of the event, which is now regarded as the premier skills competition in the bus industry, is in the hands of the BDoY Board of Directors.   ©2003-2010 UK Bus Driver of the Year Association Ltd.
